DCI FAQ
What does tuition cover?
Tuition for part-time interns will cover books and materials,
workshops, and retreats. Full-time intern tuition covers housing,
utilities, twenty-one meals per week, classes, books, and materials. A
deposit is required two weeks after being accepted with the remaining
tuition due before the beginning of the internship. Interns should plan
on budgeting for personal expenses such as personal items, laundry,
entertainment, and car/transportation expenses.
Do you offer scholarships?
No. All interns must raise their own support for the internship.
However, we do offer tuition reduction incentives.
How do I apply for an
internship?
Applications are available online at www.dreamdm.org, by emailing us at
dci@dreamdm.org
or by calling 515-24-DREAM and requesting an application be sent to you.
When should I apply?
As soon as you can, we suggest at least three weeks before the
internship starts. We stop accepting applications when we are full.
If I apply am I guaranteed
a spot in the program?
No one is guaranteed a spot in the internship. Please only make plans
to come to the internship once you have been accepted and informed a
spot has been saved for you.
Do I need a car or laptop?
Unless car-pooling with other interns, a car will be neccessary for
part-time interns and is highly recommended for full-time interns. A
laptop is useful for study and communication but is not required.
Can I hold a job as a
full-time intern?
No. Because of the intensity of your schedule you may not have an
outside job while in the internship.
Can I provide my own
housing as a full-time intern?
Ministry is most effective when it flows from the context of community
and relationships, therefore you must stay in the housing provided by
the internship.
How many intern positions
are available?
There is no minimum number of interns for an internship. We encourage
all who are interested to apply, because the more
interns we have the more people we can reach.
How much money will I need
to bring?
Depending on your personal spending habits, we recommend that each
intern budget a minimum of $100 for personal items and spending per
month. You will be responsible for your own bills and other expenses.
